Parts of a Refrigerator
There aren’t too many homes that don’t have a refrigerator in the kitchen. It has been a must-own household appliance for a lot of years. A refrigerator can store food at the optimal temperature, to reduce spoiling and slow down harmful bacteria. The concept of refrigeration starts by distributing the heat from the interior of the refrigerator to the exterior, by relying on principles of condensation and evaporation.
The standard parts of a refrigerator are below. For questions or service call Accolade Appliance Repair:
Compressor
A refrigerator compressor is a combination of a pump and a motor, and it’s necessary for the circulation of refrigerant throughout the cooling system.
A compressor is an integral piece of a refrigerator. Homeowners should enlist a professional service if the compressor is broken.
Condenser
The condenser is located on the back outside wall of the appliance and will help to emit the warmth built-up within the refrigerator out to the air.
Evaporator
The refrigerator evaporator is housed in the inside of a refrigerator where absorbs the warmth contained inside of it, effectively reducing the interior temperature.
Once an evaporator stops working, it’s time to find a professional. Don’t wait too long.
Expansion Device
Liquid coolant is directed through a capillary tube that works as an expansion device as it cools the gas inside, thereby turning it into liquid.
Thermostat
The thermostat will regulate the current temperature in the interior of a refrigerator, beginning the cooling cycle when it is required.
The thermostat inside of a refrigerator is very prone to problems. Troubleshoot and hire a repairman in CITY for service right after a problem happens.
How Does Refrigeration Work?
1. Once the temperature inside a refrigerator is above the set point sensors notify the refrigerator compressor to start, and then the cooling cycle begins. The appliance collects the cool liquified refrigerant, then condenses and pressurizes it, and raises the temperature, so it can turn into a gas form.
2. The compressor unit guides the hot gas towards the condenser coils on the rear of the unit, at which point it comes into contact with warmer air temperature in the room and reverts to a liquified state.
3. The cooled liquified gas continues on its trip towards the evaporator component, making its way through the coils within the refrigerator and top freezer compartment.
4. The coolant absorbs the heated air from inside the refrigerator, reducing the temperature back to the desired set point.
5. The refrigerant then evaporates, and turns back into a gas form, and then returns to the compressor unit in order to continue the cooling cycle.
Refrigeration is used in quite a few applications and household appliances, including heat pumps, air conditioners, refrigerators and residential freezers. By removing heat from one location and transferring it to a different one the continuous cycle of refrigeration will help cooling a home, provides a safe environment for food that is perishable, and helps with the manufacturing and storage of a lot of different common products and materials.
